What makes a good podcast great?

A way to create a great podcast can depend on what topic is chosen and also how you present and depend on that topic to move you forward to continue the conversation. If a chosen topic which has certain relevance to recent news, people are going to want to hear opinions based of current events. But what can make you stand out from the rest? What can draw in the reader more than the average podcast host? That's just a matter of the personality you bring towards your show.

If you create this kind and welcoming style and tone, this will create comfort towards the listener as if they were having the conversation themselves. Making the podcast seem warmhearted and as if the listener was there can really bring more listeners towards the show based on how 'real' it feels to hear throughout your opinion. Perhaps even audience participation such as listeners calling in to show their opinion can also bring a listener to seem as if they were there.

Another thing which helps other stand out from the rest can be the use of an intro or a jingle helped used to introduce the show, some form of a catchy jingle or memorable introduction will help stick more to a listeners head and will be easier to remember the podcast better from standing out.

Something that will defiantly improve podcasts is by having multiple people within the show, such as a co-host, guests or even a round table discussion can help bring much more conversation to the podcast. It even allows more opinions to be shown and comparison between one another's thoughts and personal feelings. This once again brings back to allowing the listener to feel as if they were talking to a group of friends, creating that warm and friendly atmosphere which helps bring in listeners.

Creating the feeling that the listener is there can be helpful to increase the podcast popularity, more ways on improving that feeling can be the input of comedy. The use of comedy can help bring more lighthearted and cheery vibes set of from the podcast, again making the listener feel as if their talking to friends. This can also be made successful through the use of informal language.

Using some form of conclusion or rating system depending on choice of podcast can help bring a podcast to a sweeter ending rather than just saying 'goodbye'. The use of a conclusion can stop the outro from feeling sudden and ending on a quick note, it will be able to give the listener time to process and understand the podcast is coming to it's end.

The use of music can help continue a conversation by always having the listener being able to hear something rather than just white noise. Without the use of this, this might give the impression to the listener than the podcast is boring and unprofessional. By having background music playing the listener can always hear something, possibly making the listener not notice if theirs any sort of silence which occurs.
